The Medical Council of Canada (MCC) is pleased to announce the publication of two new objectives for the Qualifying Examination: Clinical informatics (126) and Health and the climate crisis (78-11).
Describing the attributes expected of medical graduates entering supervised practice in Canada, the MCC Objectives are the foundation for examination development. They may also be used by medical assessment organizations, medical educators and candidates preparing for the MCC Qualifying Examination (MCCQE) Part I.
The development of the new objectives stems from the desire to continue to assess emerging social and environmental realities, and to address current trends in medical education, regulation and practice in Canada. Creating objectives is conducted with leadership from MCC Blueprint Committee members and the contributions of many subject matter experts. This collaborative work took place over the last year and the new proposed objectives were approved by the Exam Oversight Committee.
More information on the MCC Objectives can be found on our Examination Objectives overview page.
