Therapeutics Decision-Making (TDM) Examination rescheduled to October 21

July 23, 2020

We are pleased to confirm October 21, 2020 as the revised date for the postponed June 3, 2020 TDM Examination session.

Traditionally a paper-based test administered by Practice-Ready Assessment (PRA) programs, starting in October 2020, the TDM Examination will be administered as a computer-based test in  Prometric test centres across Canada. This transition will allow the Medical Council of Canada (MCC) to ensure more rigorous and efficient security as well as improved quality control.

The October 21, 2020 exam will be offered exclusively at select Prometric test centres in Canada with recommended physical distancing and other personal protective measures in place, as per the guidelines set by local public health authorities. For more details, see Prometric’s COVID-19 test centre policies page.

Eligibility to take the exam is determined by the PRA programs. Please directly contact your PRA program for further information. For a list of PRA programs, please visit the MCC’s PRA webpage

Candidates who have been deemed eligible by PRA program to sit the October 2020 session will receive instructions on how to schedule their exam from the MCC, directly through their physiciansapply.ca account. Candidates may connect directly with the MCC through their physiciansapply.ca account or [email protected], where staff are available to answer questions.

The next TDM Examination session is planned for January 2021.

For more information about the TDM Examination, please visit the MCC’s TDM Examination webpage.
