A new forum to advance IMG assessments in Canada

November 13, 2020

Recently, the Medical Council of Canada along with representatives from key stakeholders, formed the NAC International Medical Graduate (IMG) Alliance. The aim of this new forum is to share best practices and novel approaches related to the assessment of IMGs in Canada across jurisdictions and organizations.

The NAC IMG Alliance was created following the completion of the National Assessment Collaboration Central Coordination Committee (NAC3)’s mandate in July 2020. The Committee would like to recognize the efforts and support provided by the stakeholder groups involved in the NAC3, as they played an important role in overseeing the National Assessment Collaboration (NAC) Examination and the NAC Practice-Ready Assessment (PRA) from development to implementation and through the transition to sustainable operations.

We are looking forward to having IMG assessment stakeholders, through the NAC IMG Alliance, advise on current initiatives as well as advance IMG assessments in response to current challenges and future needs of IMGs, organizations and jurisdictions.
