Using the World Directory to confirm medical school recognition

Candidates can confirm whether their school of medicine is recognized in Canada by accessing the World Directory of Medical Schools (World Directory). In the past, candidates accessed this information through the International Medical Education Directory (IMED). As part of a planned transition, all of the information previously held in IMED has now been transferred to the World Directory. To check whether your medical school is recognized in Canada, please locate your school in the World Directory, and click on the Sponsor Notes tab. A note for “Canada” indicates that your medical school is recognized in Canada. See World Directory of Medical Schools for more information.
