Isabelle Tardif

Dr. Isabelle Tardif obtained a Doctor of Medicine degree from the Université de Montréal in 1997 and completed her specialized training in family medicine at the Bordeaux-Cartierville Family Medicine Unit (FMU). She practiced there for nearly twenty years as a clinician teacher and at the Hôpital de Saint-Eustache in acute inpatient care. For many years, Dr. Tardif held management responsibilities in the residency program at the FMU where she worked.

In 2010, Dr. Tardif joined the management team for the family medicine residency program at the Université de Montréal, first as assistant director and then as program director, a position she held until her arrival at the Collège des médecins du Québec (CMQ) in 2017. During this time, she put forward several projects and innovations, in particular with respect to collaboration between health professionals and patient safety. In addition, in 2017, she received the title of Fellow of the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC), awarded to members who distinguish themselves through their outstanding contribution to their community, their colleagues and the discipline of family medicine. That same year, she joined the Collège’s team as Assistant Director of Medical Education.

Appreciated for her great rigour and leadership, she has handled important files within the Medical Education Division and has represented the Order on a regular basis through liaison activities with various external organizations. In addition, in 2020, she actively participated in the development of a new strategic plan for the Collège, as coordinator of a project on the visibility of the professional order.

Since 2021, Dr. Tardif is Deputy Executive Director and Secretary of the Collège. She is notably responsible for relations with professional orders, including those working in health and human relations, in addition to assuming the important legal responsibilities of the secretary of the order, listed in the Professional Code, the Medical Act and to its regulations.
