Mr. Daniel Faulkner is committed to the demonstration of regulatory excellence and positioning professional regulators as an important contributor to health care systems. He has deep respect for the public interest and has focused on advancing organizations, programs and professions in patient quality and safety. His career spans all aspects of regulatory program oversight including licensure, assessment, and the design of risk-based and evidence-informed regulation.

Mr. Faulkner began his journey as the Registrar & CEO of the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario in August 2020. He Co-Chaired with the Ontario Ministry of Health to create and implement Canada’s first College Performance Measurement Framework (CPMF) for health professionals. He is the immediate past-Chair of the Canadian Dental Regulatory Authorities Federation and Chair of the Health Profession Regulators of Ontario.

Mr. Faulkner served almost 25 years with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. There, he held senior leadership roles including Director of Quality Management, Deputy Registrar and Interim CEO & Registrar. He has independently consulted for several organizations and professions in Canada, building solutions for challenges related to governance, strategy, business development and operations.

Formally trained in Pharmacology and Toxicology (HBSc) from Western University, he has a master of business administration (MBA) degree in Health Services Management from McMaster University and certification from the Rotman Advanced Health Leadership Program.
