The Medical Council of Canada (MCC) is pleased to introduce new, free resources designed to help you prepare for the National Assessment Collaboration (NAC) Examination.
These practical resources can help you build confidence and familiarity with the exam format, offering insight into what to expect on exam day and how to approach Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) stations.
The NAC Examination assesses clinical skills, communication, and readiness for supervised practice. If you are new to the OSCE format or have had limited exposure to this type of assessment, it is especially important to understand how stations are structured and to learn strategies for communicating with standardized participants (SPs).
The new videos and sample cases will help you gain a clearer understanding of how to demonstrate safe, structured, and compassionate care in an OSCE setting.
Two new videos take you through the NAC Examination experience:
These videos highlight practical strategies to help you perform at your best, from reading station instructions carefully to being focused on your history-taking questions.
You can also explore three sample NAC cases as presented to SPs. These cases can offer insight into how SPs are prepared for exam day and can be useful for role-play practice with peers.
You are encouraged to complement the use of these materials with the NAC Examination candidate orientation.
These new, free resources reflect the MCC’s ongoing commitment to supporting international medical graduates and internationally trained physicians as outlined in our strategic plan. They are designed to support you in becoming part of the health care solution for patients in Canada.
We wish all candidates success in your NAC Examination.
