Examinations and assessments

Provide the foundation of Medical Council of Canada (MCC) examination content for the Qualifying Examination (MCCQE) Part I and the National Assessment Collaboration (NAC) Examination.

Provides a national standard for critical medical knowledge and clinical decision-making skills that all who want to practice medicine in Canada must pass.

Assesses readiness of international medical students and graduates who want to apply to a Canadian residency program or some provincial Practice-Ready Assessment (PRA) programs.

Provides an accelerated route to licensure through the provincial PRA programs for internationally trained physicians who have completed residency and practiced independently abroad.

Supports selection of candidates for PRA programs by evaluating competence at a level required of a family physician practising independently and safely in Canada.

Request a modification to the standard administration of an upcoming MCC examination to address a human rights-related functional limitation.
