Courier service request

After 60 days, if no confirmation is received at ECFMG from the institution, candidates can request to have their documents sent by courier.

To do so, candidates must:

  1. Set up an account with a courier service company (FedEx, DHL or TNT only)
    • Candidates will be responsible to pay for all courier service related expenses
    • Candidates must confirm the following with the courier service company:
      • That the package will be sent from the ECFMG (from a US postal address)
      • That the courier service company can deliver to the country requested (cannot be an embargoed country)
  2. Send a message through their physiciansapply.ca account that includes:
    1. The name(s) of the document(s) to be sent by courier
    2. A statement authorizing the MCC and the ECFMG to use the candidate’s personal courier service account
    3. A confirmation that the candidate understands that he/she is responsible for the expenses related to the use of his/her personal courier service account
    4. The name of the courier service company
    5. The personal courier service account number
  • Once the message, with the above information is received at MCC, it can take up to 21 business days for the documents to be sent to the institution by courier service
  • A message will then be sent to the candidate’s account indicating the tracking number for tracking purposes
  • If candidates wish to have their documents sent back from the institution to the ECFMG via courier, they are responsible for arranging this service with the institution
  • Once documents are received at ECFMG, it may take up to 20 business days to process the request and before candidates can see a status change in their account
