As the delivery of health care evolves rapidly, so, too, are the competencies that are expected of medical professionals. The Blueprint project is a substantial review to evaluate how well the Medical Council of Canada’s (MCC) examinations reflect the reality of medical practice and the health-care needs of society today.
Currently, the MCC is preparing to launch of MCC Qualifying Examinations Part I and Part II based on the new Blueprint.
Additional new content for MCC Qualifying Examinations Parts I and Part II will be created and piloted in 2015 and 2016 whereas the new Qualifying Examinations based on the Blueprint will launch in spring 2018 for the MCCQE Part I and in fall 2018 or spring 2019 for the MCCQE Part II.
