Research and development

In order to achieve the highest standard of medical care for Canadians, the Medical Council of Canada has a strong commitment to research and development, and is engaged in many supporting activities including:

Research

  • Providing support to a variety of groups and individuals
  • Managing data requests for outcome studies
  • Publishing research reports in physician assessment

Development

  • Designing new tools to assess and evaluate physicians in clinical practice
  • Developing new examinations and assessments

Facilitation

  • Liaising with sister organizations, presenting at conferences and publishing in peer-reviewed journals
  • Consulting in areas of research, development and psychometrics
  • Producing the Deans’ Reports and other special reports
