The Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination (MCCQE) Part II Deans’ report is published twice a year. The report for the spring and fall MCCQE Part II examination session includes the performance of each of the 17 Canadian medical schools.
The report is normally published four or five months after the spring and fall results are confirmed by the Central Examination Committee meeting.
The MCCQE Part II Deans’ Report contains the following sections:
Sections I to V features a graphic presentation of your medical school’s mean total scores and subscores
(patient/physician interaction, Considerations of Legal, Ethical and Organizational Aspects of the Practice of Medicine, problem solving/decision making and data acquisition) in comparison to major candidate groups (e.g., all candidates, first-time takers, repeat takers, etc.) and the national average for comparison. In addition, there are two figures; one that illustrates the total score distribution, and the other that illustrates the pass rate for your school and other candidate groups.
The following table outlines the differences across Sections I to V.
| Section | Candidate graduate group |
| I | Postgraduate trainees from your postgraduate program |
| II | Medical graduates from your medical school (one year prior) |
| III | Postgraduate trainees from your postgraduate program who graduated from your medical school |
| IV | Medical graduates from your medical school who trained as residents at another postgraduate program |
| V | Postgraduate trainees from your postgraduate program who trained as medical students at another medical school |
Section VI is a school specific table summarizing the results depicted in Sections I to V.
Section VII features the same information shown in other sections for candidates by specialty.
